Paphiopedilum American Hybrid

Native to tropical and subtropical areas of Asia, Paphiopedilum — commonly known as the slipper orchid — is well-suited to indoor environments with good indirect light. The cultivar 'American Hybrid' combines characteristics of different species to produce a striking flowering plant with petals in rich, contrasting hues, often in combinations of white, green, burgundy or brown.

This orchid does not have pseudobulbs like other species, so it prefers more regular watering (without soaking!) and a well-drained substrate, suitable for terrestrial orchids. The broad, ornamental leaves remain beautiful throughout the year, even outside the flowering period.

With the right care, Paphiopedilum blooms annually and keeps flowering for several weeks, offering a touch of refinement and tranquility to any room in the house.
