About Cordyline Red Star

Cordyline 'Red Star' is native to New Zealand and is perfectly adapted to the Mediterranean climate, becoming increasingly popular in gardens throughout the Iberian Peninsula. Its tapered, rigid foliage has an intense reddish-brown tone, giving a contemporary and tropical look to any space.

It is a perennial plant, resistant to drought and wind, that prefers places with good sun exposure or partial shade. When planted in the ground, it can reach considerable heights over time, forming a tall stem similar to a trunk. In a pot, it remains more compact, ideal for adding verticality to compositions on balconies or entrances.

Despite its exotic appearance, it is easy to maintain: just water it moderately, ensuring that the soil drains well, and protect it from strong frosts in colder regions. It is also quite tolerant of salinity, which makes it an excellent choice for coastal areas.
